Putin steps up efforts to undercut Wagner leader after rebellion

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner mercenary group, of corruption and implied that he may have stolen funds. Putin revealed that Russia had paid over $3 billion for Wagner's troops and for food supplied by Prigozhin's catering company. The accusations were intended to undermine Prigozhin's claims of popular support.
