‘Engraved with initials’: Titanic passenger's gold pocket watch sold for 1.78m pounds; memorabilia auction sets new record

A gold pocket watch belonging to Titanic victim Isidor Straus, Macy's co-owner, fetched a record 1.78 million pounds at auction. The 18-karat timepiece, which stopped at the moment the ship sank, was gifted to him in 1888.
